Aset Irgaliyev appointed first vice minister of national economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan

By the decree of the Government, Aset Irgaliyev was appointed first vice minister of national economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Aset Irgaliyev was born in 1986 in Kostanay. In 2008, he graduated from the Kazakhstan Institute of Management, Economics and Forecasting, the International School of Business in Sweden, in 2009 — from the University of York, and in 2010 — from the University of Nottingham. He is an economist. He speaks Kazakh, Russian, English and German.

He began his career in September 2010 as a regional economic policy analyst for Eastern Europe and the Caucasus at the Economic Department of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London. From October 2011 to November 2012, he was chief regional analyst in the same department. In November 2011, he became a regional economist at the bank.

In January 2013, he was appointed director of the Center for Entrepreneurship Development Institute of Economic Research JSC. There, Irgaliyev worked as vice president, deputy chairman of the board, first deputy chairman of the board until early 2016. In February 2016, he was appointed chairman of the board of the Institute for Economic Research.

Since October 2016, he served as advisor to the chairman of the Board of Baiterek NMH JSC, and in December 2016, he was appointed advisor to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2017-2018, he was head of the Project Management Center of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

From September 2018 to March 2019, he served as vice minister of national economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

From March 2019, he has worked as deputy head of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
