Kazakhstan to switch to GovTech platform model of digitalization

Today, within the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum, Prime Minister Askar Mamin and Head of the SBER Group of Companies Herman Gref signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the implementation of projects on digital transformation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the transition to a platform model of digitalization and the concept of Data-Driven Government.

The signing ceremony was held online with the participation of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

The document provides for key approaches to the development of cooperation on the implementation of the GovTech digital platform in Kazakhstan, reengineering and digital transformation of public administration using data analysis and artificial intelligence practices. The digital architecture platform model will increase the speed and efficiency of public services delivery to the population.

“This project symbolizes the mutual trust of our states, therefore it is truly strategic in nature. The participation of SBER, which has been very successfully functioning in our market for over 15 years, in creating the institutional basis of the Kazakh state security department makes cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia more diversified due to such an extremely important area as intellectual technologies,’’ said the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The Head of State stressed that the implementation of this strategic project will assist in improving the quality of life of citizens of Kazakhstan and improving the business climate.

President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin noted in his speech that the signing of the document between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the SBER Group of Companies is another evidence of the high level of cooperation between the two countries in all areas, including digitalization.
