Operational Headquarters on COVID-19 keeps situation in regions under control

At a meeting of the Operational Headquarters on COVID-19 chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister Yeraly Tugzhanov, the issues that needed to be addressed urgently were considered:

  1. adoption of the necessary regulatory framework for the prompt supply of medicines to the regions;
  2. acquisition of an additional 1,600 ventilation devices, 800 ambulances of ambulance services, as well as the most demanded drugs, the delivery of which is expected by the end of this week (paracetamol, azithromycin, ceftriaxone, oseltamivir and others).
  3. continued extra payment to medical personnel involved in the fight against coronavirus.

Also, the Operational Headquarters individually examined the sanitary and epidemiological situation in Atyrau, Mangystau, West Kazakhstan, Karaganda regions and in the city of Nur-Sultan.

In each of the regions, the Ministry of Healthcare reported problematic issues and developed specific measures to improve the current situation.

The operational headquarters especially noted the unsatisfactory sanitary and epidemiological situation in the Atyrau region due to the increase in the incidence of COVID-19.

In this regard, Tugzhanov was instructed by the Akimat of the Atyrau region to take comprehensive measures to improve the situation, including additional restrictive measures.

Also, the deputy prime minister was instructed by the regional akimats to ensure strict control over compliance with quarantine measures, to organize additional infectious hospitals as soon as possible, to purchase the necessary equipment (mechanical ventilation, CT, etc.), as well as to increase the power of PCR laboratories.

“We will keep the situation in each region under the special control of the Operational Headquarters. We will continue to work on a daily basis with hearing and taking concrete measures both on a republican and regional scale,” concluded Tugzhanov.
