First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Finance Alikhan Smailov participates in meeting of EEC Council

First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Finance Alikhan Smailov attended the regular meeting of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission held in Cholpon-Ata (Kyrgyzstan).

Members of the EEC Council considered issues in the areas of integration, trade, international cooperation, customs and technical regulation, industry, financial policy, public procurement, digitalization of the economies of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, industrial cooperation and several others.

The report on the ongoing work to remove obstacles in mutual trade between the EAEU member states was heard. It was instructed to continue work to further reduce obstacles.

The new Eurasian technological platform “Technologies for Maintenance and Repair of Industrial Equipment” was approved. The purpose of this platform is to increase the creative, technical and financial capabilities of communities that repair industrial equipment of the EAEU member states by concentrating the financial and administrative resources of member states and enterprises aimed at intensifying the innovative development of repair technologies of member states.

The members of the EEC Council also considered certain issues regarding the introduction of goods labeling in the customs territory of the EAEU, as well as the technical aspects of its implementation.

Within the framework of the meeting, a list of measures to implement the main guidelines of the macroeconomic policy of the Member States of the Eurasian Economic Union for 2019-2020 was approved.
