Government Working Group discusses issues of education quality with teachers of Shymkent

Government Working Group led by the Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Berdibek Saparbayev arrived in Shymkent on Thursday, Oct. 24. It included the ministers of labor and social protection of the population Birzhan Nurymbetov, healthcare Yelzhan Birtanov, education and science Askhat Aimagambetov, vice ministers of culture and sports Urken Bisakayev, information and social development Daniyar Yesin.

The main purpose of the trip is to clarify the priority areas of the Address of the Head of State to the people of Kazakhstan.

The working visit of the government members began with a visit to secondary school No. 65, where a meeting was held with the pedagogical community, veterans and educators.

During the meeting, issues of improving the quality of education, improving the material and technical base, improving the status and material support of teachers and other pressing problems were discussed.

In his speech, the deputy prime minister noted that the country's leadership provides significant support to the development of the social sphere.

“We must bring up an educated generation. Elbasy and the Head of State pay special attention to this issue. The draft Law ‘On the Status of the Teacher’ is under consideration in Parliament. The rights of teachers will be protected,” he said.

Deputy prime minister pointed out the need to strengthen the spiritual and moral education of youth, involving them in extracurricular activities.

“Why is the number of legal offenses and suicides increasing among young people? Because children have nothing to do after school. While the parents are working, the child is left to himself. Children need to be involved in additional out-of school activities, go in for sports and art. We have built enough social facilities, it is necessary to ensure their maximum load, including in the evenings and weekends. We are working in this direction. Then our children will be well-educated and healthy, will not commit offenses,” Saparbayev noted.

The vice prime minister also criticized the work of colleges.

“Every year, thousands of people graduate from colleges, who routinely replenish the ranks of the unemployed. This is because the leadership of the colleges does not follow those who are taught, how they are trained. A few years ago, we introduced the practice so that the employment of each graduate was supported by a certificate of pension contributions, but even here we found a loophole. Arranged for a month or two, deductions passed, brought the paper, and all. This is because colleges teach in unclaimed specialties and the low quality of education. Therefore, we have a shortage of personnel, ”B. Saparbayev emphasized.

In addition, the deputy prime minister held a meeting on social and labor issues and the introduction of compulsory social health insurance in the Shymkent Akimat.
