All conditions will be created to further increase localization at agricultural enterprises — Union of Machine Builders of Kazakhstan

At a press conference in the Government, Chairman of the Union of Machine Builders of Kazakhstan Meiram Pshembayev spoke about the ongoing work on the localization of agricultural machinery enterprises of Kazakhstan.

According to Pshembayev, the development of agricultural machinery in Kazakhstan is a priority state task. A special niche is reserved for agricultural engineering in the new Roadmap for the development of mechanical engineering.

“All conditions will be created in order to further increase localization at Kazakhstani enterprises. We have dozens of factories that produce combines, tractors, sowing complexes, reapers and other equipment that is necessary for the technological process of cultivating crops. The localization process is very active,” Pshembayev said.

Last year, agricultural machinery production amounted to 27 billion tenge. Within the framework of the Roadmap for the Development of Automotive Industry, it is planned to bring this indicator to at least 60-70 billion tenge. If all measures of state support are implemented, as well as business obligations, then in the next 5-6 years it is planned to achieve production volumes of up to 100 billion tenge in agricultural machinery.

“We need to support domestic agricultural machinery. We have enough people, resources in the agricultural sector and consumers of these products,” Pshembayev said.
