The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov had a telephone conversation with the Chair of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin.

Topical issues of bilateral trade and economic cooperation and interaction within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union were discussed.

Particular attention was paid to joint measures to combat the spread of COVID-19 and mitigate the consequences of the pandemic for the economies of the two countries.

According to the results of 11 months of 2021, bilateral trade between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation increased by 30% and reached $21.8 billion. Compared to the pre-pandemic 2019, the volume of trade increased by 21%.
