Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev has held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Erlan Idrissov, Akorda Press Service informs.

E.Idrissov reported to the President on preparations for the work within the forthcoming Kazakhstan`s membership in the UN Security Council since January 2017.

The President noted the need to focus on the foreign policy activities within celebrating the 25th anniversary of Independence of Kazakhstan.

“Our ambassadors should demonstrate to foreign community the country`s achievements over the past 25 years, including the contribution of Kazakhstan to the preservation of peace and tranquility outside the country, with the aim of raising country`s credibility at an international stage,” N.Nazarbayev said.

 Along with it, Head of State stressed the importance of foreign official delegations` visits to our country.

Pointing the priority activities carried out within the forthcoming membership in the UN Security Council, the President also noted that the mission is a reflection of special trust of the international community.

The Foreign Affairs Minister informed about active preparation for membership in the UN Security Council and on distribution of Standing Committees` management.

In addition, E.Idrissov reported on the representative international conference to be held as part of celebrations of the 25th anniversary of Independence of Kazakhstan.

Head of Foreign Affairs Ministry informed the President on the upcoming international events, one of the most major of which is EXPO 2017 international exhibition.

Following the meeting, the Head of State gave a number of specific instructions.
