Astana hosts a Government meeting chaired by Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev, where in order to implement President’s instructions given in his Address, main directions of developing IT-systems in education are being considered.

The Minister of Education and Science Y. Sagadiyev reported that to date, there are 73 information systems. All of them will send data to 4 platforms.

The first – NED (National Education Database) – is all the administrative information for the education system, Second – is an electronic journal – current grades, academic information and TVE. Third – cloud bookkeeping – unified bookkeeping for all educational institutions in the country. Fourth - Unified higher education management system (UHEMS) – higher education information system.

All 73 systems will send data to these 4 platforms, and the 4 platforms will exchange information.

According to him this will allow full automation, where it will be possible to see grades, homework of every child, teachers’ lesson plans. Further it will be easier to plan the contingent of children, lack of pupil seats, school construction maps. All will come out from a unified information system.

Teachers will be able to take online control of classes, full transition to paperless bookkeeping – information will no longer be duplicated. This will allow parents to see grades, attendance, homework and progress of their children online.

“To implement these platforms, it is required to increase internet speed in schools and centralize their payment in a single body, as well as to fix responsibility for ensuring information security,” – Y Sagadiyev noted.
