Today at Ukimet Uyi Prime Minster Bakytzhan Sagintayev held a meetingwith representatives of the Fraunhofer Institute of Applied Research and the Swedish Trade and Invest Council.

The meeting discussed prospects of cooperation within the framework of implementing the Presidential Address “Third Modernization of Kazakhstan: Global competitiveness” on developing a set of measures for the technological rearmament of basic industries before 2025, including elements of the fourth industrial revolution.

For reference: Fraunhofer is the largest European institute of applied research in industry, combining about 69 institutes, including the Institute of Industrial Automation, the Institute for the study of new materials, the Institute of Intelligent Systems, employing 24,500 people (mainly educated in engineering and natural sciences). The Institute plays an important role in implementing elements of Industry 4.0 in Germany and in other countries. Germany is the founder of the industry 4.0 concept, and today is one of the leading countries in implementing its elements.

Business Sweden is the Council for Trade and Investment of Sweden, established by the Government and the Association of Swedish Industrial Enterprises. This Council is the operator of the program “Mining for Generations”, which is a platform for innovative interaction of mining companies with high-tech companies and research institutions in Sweden.
