In Moscow on May 17, 2017, First Deputy Prime Minister Askar Mamin took part in the meeting of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

The Council meeting saw participation of Information Ministers of the EAEU Member Countries. Kazakhstan was represented by Minister of Information and Communications Dauren Abayev.

The meeting discussed a number of topical issues, in particular, the proposals for initiatives within the framework of implementing the Eurasian Economic Union‘s digital agenda before 2025.

Formation of the EAEU digital agenda will promote open, broad and equitable cooperation among member states, economic entities and citizens, increase the efficiency and volume of the economy of each of the member states, the transition of the EAEU to a new level of economic, technological and social development, as well as strengthen EAEU’s role in the formation of the global digital agenda.

The meeting also discussed matters of removing obstacles in the internal market of the EAEC, approved the Roadmap for eliminating a number of obstacles in EAEC internal markets. In addition, it heard the report of the EEC on the results of the 2016 assessment of the regulatory impact of EEC draft decisions.

Implementation of this set of measures will ensure the access of Kazakhstani products to EAEC markets and create favorable conditions for small and medium-sized businesses.

The relevant issues are planned to be submitted to the Heads of Governments of EAEC Member States on May 26 this year.

Council Members discusses issues of developing the product marking system using means of identification in the Eurasian Economic Community, and EEC acts provided by the EAEC customs code.

Introduction of the marking system will make it possible in the long term to reduce the volumes of the shadow economy and the turnover of counterfeit products.

The Commission Council adopted a regulation which establishes uniform safety requirements for children's playgrounds within the framework of the EAEC. The regulation’s entry into force is envisaged after 18 months from the date of its adoption.

In addition, decisions were made on issues related to veterinary control, customs tariff regulation.

In general, mutually beneficial solutions aimed at further development of the Eurasian Economic Community were reached on all the discussed issues.
