August 27, Astana will launch the International CICA and Shanghai Cooperation Organization marathon. This was reported by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Akylbek Kamaldinov during the civil forum of the national and cultural centers of the member states of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) "Cultural openness is the basis of peace and harmony".

“The Astana International CICA and Shanghai Cooperation Organization Marathon will start on August 27, within the framework of the CICA humanitarian study in honor of the 25th anniversary of the forum. I invite everyone to participate in this event,” – Akylbek Kamaldinov said, addressing the forum participants.

He also expressed gratitude to the Government of China for assistance in organizing the events.

“I would like to take this opportunity to express my warmest thanks to the Government of China as the chair and executive directorate of the CICA secretariat for the active support and conduct of cultural sports events within the CICA,” – Akylbek Kamaldinov noted.

It should be noted that today the Independence Palace hosted the civil forum of national cultural centers of the member states of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) "Cultural openness is the basis of peace and harmony".

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Akylbek Kamaldinov in his welcoming speech congratulated everyone on the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia.

“Over the years we together have come a long way and have created a structure that has taken its rightful place in world politics by becoming an effective tool for building security and trust between the CICA member countries and beyond. The success of the CICA process was predetermined by the fact that it meets the common aspiration of the peoples of Asia to live in genuine and lasting peace free from any threat to security,” – he said.
