During his working trip to Kyrgyzstan, Minister of Religious Affairs and Civil Society of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Yermekbayev met with Director of the State Commission for Religious Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Zayyrbek Ergeshov. The Heads of the two agencies signed a Memorandum on Cooperation between the Ministry for Religious Affairs and Civil Society of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the State Commission for Religious Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The Memorandum provides for the exchange of experience and information on the monitoring and implementation of the action plan items laid down in the state policies of the two countries regarding religious matters.

“In the document, we tried to broadly cover all aspects of cooperation for the effective implementation of state policy in the religious sphere in the interests of both states,” – Minister Nurlan Yermekbayev said.

One of the important items of the memorandum is the cooperation of authorized state bodies in the regulation of the religious sphere, in the interaction and exchange of experience in the work to protect the population from destructive religious ideas, the rehabilitation and de-radicalization of persons subjected to the influence of foreign religious extremist organizations.

At the same time, the memorandum is intended to strengthen cooperation between the countries in the development of theological (spiritual) and religious studies. Within the framework of the memorandum, it is planned to conduct joint scientific and educational activities aimed at religious education of the population and strengthening of inter-confessional accord.

The Memorandum also reinforced the opportunity of creating, sharing and publishing scientific, artistic, expert literature and other information materials related to the religious sphere.

Recall, today the Minister for Religious Affairs and Civil Society of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Yermekbayev took part in the International Conference on “Islam in a Modern Secular State”, which was held in Bishkek.
