Today, as part of his working trip to South Kazakhstan region, Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev held a meeting with members of the Regional Council of the NCE Atameken, which discussed the development of small and medium business in the region.

The meeting discussed matters of increasing the share of local content in public procurement, upgrading and building a new passenger terminal at the international airport in Shymkent, restoring the water supply system, subsidizing crop production, removing barriers in the export of domestic goods, preferential loans to agribusiness, the region's participation in the digitization of industries, development of a new export policy.

These topics were elaborated upon by Chairman of the Board of NCE Atameken Ablay Myrzakhmetov, Director General of Karlskrona LC AB LLP Ualikhan Akhmetov, President of SCAT JSC Vladimir Denisov, President of Kainar Mai LLP Khali Sarmanov, Director General of VIZIT ZBN LLP Velkim Zlavdinov, Chairman of the Regional Council of the Chamber of Enterpreneurs Kainar Abassov, Head of the Steklo&Co IT-group Khondamir Yuldashev.

The raised issues were commented by Minister of National Economy T. Suleimenov, Deputy Minister of Investments and Development R. Sklyar, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture K. Aituganov, and Akim of the region Zh. Tuimebayev.

Summarizing the meeting, Bakytzhan Sagintayev noted that in accordance with the Presidential Address “Third Modernization of Kazakhstan: Global Competitiveness”, the development of entrepreneurship is one of the key areas in forming a new model of economic growth in the country.

In this regard, the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in close cooperation with NCE Atameken, is carrying out a comprehensive work to expand measures to support domestic business.

At the same time, the business community has great prospects for participating in the digitization of the economy and improving its productivity and quality of products.

The number of operating entities in the field of small and medium-sized business in the region this year amounted to 176.6 thousand, or 5% more compared to the corresponding period of 2016. Today, the implementation of the Business Roadmap 2020 and the Productive Employment and Mass Entrepreneurship state programs plays a key role in supporting entrepreneurship.
