Deputy Minister of Energy Makhambet Dosmukhambetov delivered the data on production levels during his speech at the 25th Kazakhstan International Conference "Oil and Gas" in Almaty.

According to the Deputy Minister, as of now, production is going without failures and corresponds to the schedule.

“Oil production in Kazakhstan’s Karachaganak in January-September of 2017 amounted to 9.3 million tonnes, and the plan for 2017 is 12 million tonnes. We are also on schedule in gas production. In the nine months of 2017, gas production at the gas condensate field amounted to 14 billion cubic meters, with the plan for the year being 17.5 billion cubic meters.

In 2017 the Tengiz field is expected to produce 28 million tonnes of oil and 15 billion cubic meters of gas. The expansion project at the field will increase oil production by 12 million tonnes per year. In the 9 months of 2017, Kashagan produced 5.9 million tonnes of oil and 3.5 billion cubic meters of gas, the plan is to before the end of the year produce 8 million tonnes of oil and 4.5 billion cubic meters of gas. The current production level at Kashagan exceeds 200 thousand barrels of oil per day, and there are plans to increase the figure to 450 thousand barrels,” – the Deputy Minister said.

Makhambet Dosmukhambetov also shared Kazakhstan’s plans for oil production.

“According to the plans, by 2025, oil production in Kazakhstan will reach 100 million tonnes annually, gas production will amount to 60 billion cubic meters per year,” – Makhambet Dosmukhambetov told the conference participants.
