The Kazakhstan military delegation led by Minister of Defence Colonel-General Saken Zhasuzakov took part in the meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States in Dushanbe.

The meeting discussed issues related to the use of various communication systems, the creation of the International Army Games Association, cooperation in the engineering support of the armed forces of the CIS countries until 2020, preparations for the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, and outlined joint actions of the integrated air defense system of the CIS states in 2018.

In addition, the Defense Ministers have signed documents related to the holding of a number of exercises within the framework of the CIS, the work plan of the Council of Defense Ministers for 2018.

Based on the results of the meeting, the participants of the CIS CDM determined the further vector of the development of interaction between military departments in the topographical sphere, military media, the exchange of archival documents and the use of databases in the interests of military memorial work in the armed forces of the Commonwealth countries, the development of cooperation in the field of physical training and sports, and a number of other documents.

Also, on October 12 of this year, the Defense Ministers of the CIS member states met with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
