During the meeting, Nurlan Yermekbayev congratulated His Holiness on being awarded the highest state award "Order of Dostyk" of the 1st degree, which he received from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev for his efforts in strengthening peace, friendship and cooperation between the peoples of Kazakhstan and Russia.

“Today, the fruitful cooperation of all faiths on the basis of mutual respect and open dialogue is one of Kazakhstan's main riches and highlights... Undoubtedly, the creation of such relations is not an easy task, and in achieving interdenominational dialogue, a special role is taken by the two leading religions - Islam of the Hanafi madhhab and Orthodoxy.” – Minister N. Yermekbayev expressed his point of view.

He noted that the Ministry for Religious Affairs and Civil Society of the Republic of Kazakhstan managed to establish a constructive dialogue with all religious associations and create favorable conditions for their work, including for the Russian Orthodox Church.

"We implement state policy through improving legislation, consolidating civil society, through close interaction with religious associations,” – the Minister stressed.

Nurlan Yermekbayev highly appreciated the efforts of the Orthodox Church aimed at respecting state policy, preserving the traditional and moral values of people and society, taking into account modern requirements, developing interfaith and interreligious dialogue. He expressed gratitude for the continued support and participation of representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church in the work of interreligious forums held in Astana.
