As previously reported, a representative delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic headed by the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Sapar Isakov arrived in Astana today. The visit took place on the initiative of the Kyrgyz side following a telephone conversation held the day before.

Meetings took place between the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev and the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Sapar Isakov in both narrow and extended formats, which discussed issues related to border, transportation, phytosanitary and veterinary control, customs and tax administration, taking into account the relevant rules and regulations of the EAEU and WTO.

Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev stressed that: “As was repeatedly noted by the President of Kazakhstan N. Nazarbayev, relations between the two fraternal states should be exemplary in all respects, become an example of effective and mutually beneficial cooperation in the region”.

In turn, Prime Minister Sapar Isakov said that a large delegation has arrived from Kyrgyzstan.

“I, as the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, am committed to constructive work,” – S. Isakov said.

As a result of negotiations, the parties agreed to ensure the order of preference for crossing the Kazakh-Kyrgyz border for individuals with personal luggage, regular passenger buses, cars, empty cargo vehicles, beginning 00:00 of October 19.

In addition, a decision was made to set up a working group chaired by the First Deputy Prime Ministers of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan to prepare a joint "Roadmap" on topical issues of bilateral economic relations.
