During the Government meeting, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture Kairat Aituganov reported on the progress of the implementation of AIC Development State Program.

According to the speaker, the volume of gross agricultural production in January-September of 2017 increased 1.9% compared with the same period of last year and amounted to 2.9 trillion tenge. The output of food products during this period increased 5.3% and amounted to 1.1 trillion tenge.

Since the beginning of the year, as of October 1, 745 agricultural cooperatives have been established (with the plan for the year being 326). 6159 private feeding stations for 102 587 head of cattle were created. The measures taken have allowed attracting 7600 private entrepreneurs and creating more than 12 000 new jobs, as well as involving about 56 000 personal subsidiary and small farms in agricultural cooperation.

The output of livestock products increased 3.3% compared to the previous year. The diversification of crops carried out this year has allowed increasing production volumes of oilseeds and leguminous crops by 376 thousand tonnes or 18% in comparison with the previous year.

As of October 18, 15.2 million hectares or 99.7% of ​​grain and leguminous crops have been harvested. 21.8 million tonnes of grain were threshed with an average yield of 14.3 centners per hectare, and 1.7 million hectares or 68% of oilseeds were harvested.

3.3 million tonnes of potatoes were harvested, a figure which is 709 000 tonnes more than for the same period of last year, as well as 3.2 million tonnes of vegetables (654 000 tonnes more), and 2.2 million tonnes of melons (126 thousand tonnes more).

According to the Deputy Minister, for the first nine months of 2017 the share of meat processing was 33%, milk - 24%. For the development of the nine priority types of processing, calculations have been made and agro-processing development Roadmaps have been created for each region and district.

"The implementation of the Roadmaps will raise the agro-industrial complex to a new level of development, increase its competitiveness, strengthen the stability of the domestic food market and strengthen the industry’s export orientation," – K. Aituganov concluded.
