Today’s meeting chaired by Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev has covered the progress of the implementation of the Nurly Zhol Infrastructure Development State Program for the first half of 2017.

Minister of Investments and Development Zhenis Kassymbek reported that this year marks the completion of the construction of the new passenger terminal of the Astana Airport and the commission of the new railway station “Nurly Zhol”. The new station’s capacity is 35 thousand passengers per day, and in conjunction with the old station, the total figure is 47 thousand passengers per day, which completely covers the capital’s passenger transportation demands.

This year, the implementation of the state program also envisages the implementation of 22 new road projects with a total length of 4.4 thousand km. Construction work continues on the projects Center-South, Center-East, Beineu-Aktau, Aktobe-Atyrau, Kapshagai-Taldykorgan, Astana-Petropavlovsk and Uralsk-Kamenka, with the total length of them all being 1.2 thousand km. During the first nine months of this year, 177.5 billion tenge was utilized for the implementation of these projects, 75 000 people were involved.

By the end of the year, it is planned to complete work on 602 km of roads and open traffic on roads Astana-Pavlodar: 232 km, Beineu-Aktau: 230 km, Korday Bypass: 40 km, Uralsk-Kamenka: 50 km, Aktobe-Atyrau: 26 km, and Kapshagai – Taldykorgan: 24 km.

To modernize the heat, water and sanitation network system, the National Fund has allocated 53 billion tenge for the construction and reconstruction of around 1222.7 km in 2017-2018. In total, during the years of the implementation of the state program, 2155.8 km of heat, water and wastewater networks, 21 boiler houses and 38 pumping stations were constructed and reconstructed.

“86.9 billion tenge was allocated for the implementation of 119 projects within the Nurly Zhol State Program. As of October 1, natural monopoly entities have utilized 76.9 billion tenge, of 89% of the allocated funds,” – Zh. Kassymbek concluded.

Minister of Education and Science Yerlan Sagadiyev reported on the implementation of projects in the sphere of education within the framework of the Nurly Zhol State Program. Chairman of the Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund U. Shukeyev also spoke at the Government meeting.

Recall, today’s Government meeting is dedicated to reviewing the progress of the implementation of the Nurly Zhol Infrastructure Development State Program for 2015-2019.
