Today in Ukimet Uyi, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev has held a meeting with Angel Gurría, Secretary General of the OECD.

The meeting covered issues related to the further cooperation with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

For reference:

Kazakhstan has been cooperating with the OECD since 2008 within the framework of the Eurasian Competitiveness Programme, the participants of which are 13 countries of Central Asia, the Caucasus and Eastern Europe.

The main objectives within the framework of Kazakhstan’s cooperation with the OECD are:

- Ensuring Kazakhstan’s economic growth by attracting the expertise of the OECD;

- Increasing the competitiveness of the Republic of Kazakhstan through the implementation of the OECD Eurasian Competitiveness Program;

- Kazakhstan’s alignment with the standards of the OECD countries and entry into the world’s 30 most developed countries.
