Today, as part of his working visit to Mangystau region, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev held a meeting with the public of the region on topical issues of social and economic development with the participation of heads of central state agencies and local executive bodies.

Akim of Mangystau region Eraly Tugzhanov delivered a report on measures for socio-economic development of the region.

Thus, in January-September of 2017, production volumes in the manufacturing industry increased 4.1% and amounted to 119.0 billion tenge. The volume of cargo transportation in the region for January-September amounted to 169.7 million tonnes, which is 7.5% more than in the same period in 2016. This year, within the framework of the Mangystau Region Business Support Roadmap, it is planned to launch seven projects for a total of more than 71.5 billion tenge, creating 450 new permanent jobs. Since the beginning of this year, two projects have been commissioned for a total of 1.2 billion tenge.

In the field of transport and infrastructure development, the construction of a ferry complex in the port of Kuryk is continuing as part of the Nurly Zhol program. There is ongoing reconstruction and repair of the highways “Shetpe-Zhetybai-Aktau”, “Beineu-Akzhigit-the border of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, “Zhetybai-Zhanaozen”, “Aktau-Kuyulus”, “Fort-Shevchenko-the 43rd kilometer of the Aktau road- Kalamkas” and “Fort-Shevchenko-Tauchik-Shetpe”.

In turn, the public representatives also spoke on the following issues: the Director of the “Caspiy” desalination plant Vladimir Murashko spoke on the issues of ramping-up  volumes of desalinated water, Chairman of the regional veterans’ council Serikbai Tuletov  elaborated on the environmental situation in the region, the public figure Dorzhok Seybagytov spoke about the reconstruction of major transport highways, Chairman of the public council of the Munaylinsky district of Aktau Tabyldy Amirov elaborated on the development of rural medical outpatient clinics.

In addition, the Secretary of the Tupkaragan district Maslikhat Aikumis Dosanova raised the topic of schools with three-shift education, the Deputy of the regional Maslikhat Dmitry Klinchev spoke on the general development plan for Aktau, and Director General of Buzachi Operating LTD Jingcheng Liu and Director General of Ozenmunaigas Bekzat Abayildanov elaborated on topical issues of the activities of oil producing companies and oilfield service companies.

Minister of Investments and Development Zhenis Kassymbek, Deputy Minister of Energy Magzum Mirzagaliyev, Deputy Minister of Healthcare Alexei Tsoy, Deputy Minister of Education and Science Askhat Aimagambetov and Deputy Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin gave their comments on the raised issues. They reported on their action plans on the resolution of the voiced issues.

Summarizing the meeting, the Prime Minister noted that the region shows good growth dynamics, due to which it managed to reach a positive pace within such development indicators as investments in fixed assets and construction volumes.

At the same time, it was noted that the main task for the region's leadership is to preserve and create jobs especially among young people.

Aside from the tools of the Productive Employment and Mass Entrepreneurship Program, additional measures are being implemented in this area, such as work placement, the mentoring institute, grant targeted training and retraining of personnel, as well as the implementation of the regional program "Zhana Serpin".

In addition, it was noted that the region recorded a high rate of population growth, which in turn obliges local authorities to actively address the construction of housing and social facilities. At present, the pace of housing construction in the region is quite high, the state program "Nurly Zher" is being actively implemented. Since the beginning of the year, 665 000 m2 of housing have been put in commission, the growth rate is almost 36%, but this issue should always be kept under control.

As for the social infrastructure, construction of nine new schools have been started in the region in the current year, which should solve the problem of three-shift education, most of them are financed under the Nurly Zhol State Program.

As part of the solution to the issue of drinking water shortage, the first stage of modernization of the only desalination plant "Caspiy" was carried out, which allowed increasing the plant's capacity to 20 thousand cubic meters of water per day.
