The delegation of the Ministry of Investments and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, headed by Deputy Minister Yerlan Khairov, is participating in the World Bank's Investment Competitiveness Forum in the city of Vienna (Austrian Republic).

“The forum provides a good opportunity to declare to the international community about the successful measures taken to reform the investment climate in Kazakhstan and the forthcoming reforms planned within the framework of the National Investment Strategy.

At the same time, on the margins of the forum, Deputy Minister Yerlan Khairov participated in bilateral meetings with representatives of foreign countries and international organizations," – according to the report.

For example, a meeting was held with Fatou Haidara, Managing Director of UNIDO's Policy and Programme Support. The meeting covered the implementation of joint projects, UNIDO’s assessment of Kazakhstani programs, as well as future joint projects.

An exchange of views took place at the meeting with the Austrian WKO (Austrian Federal Economic Chamber), during which the Deputy Minister spoke about the ongoing work on attracting investors, the adopted investment strategy, plans for privatization, PPP, and the launch of the AIFC.

The Kazakh side was introduced to the technologies of Austrian companies, offered services in the field of transport infrastructure development, the development of smart cities, as well as new technologies.

In addition, bilateral meetings were held with representatives of Myanmar, Kenya, Tunisia, Ghana, Georgia and Mongolia, during which foreign delegates were informed about the measures taken to improve the investment climate in Kazakhstan, including taking into account OECD practices and recommendations.
