In Petropavlovsk, First Deputy Prime Minister Askar Mamin chaired a meeting of the Working Group on the Development of North Kazakhstan Region.

A. Mamin stressed the importance of executing the tasks set by the Head of State regarding the further development of the North Kazakhstan region. A Working Group consisting of heads of state agencies was created for the comprehensive consideration of the issues of social and economic development of the region and the adoption of appropriate decisions.

As the Akim of North-Kazakhstan region Kumar Aksakalov said, the draft of the Comprehensive plan for social and economic development of the region for 2018-2021 has been developed. The project consists of 12 areas for the implementation of investment projects in the region, the construction of social facilities, the development of transport and engineering communications, processing facilities in the agro-industrial complex, and modernization of enterprises of the defense industry complex. In general, 64 actions are envisaged, which will allow to create about 14 thousand new jobs until 2021. The comprehensive plan provides for the implementation of investment projects in North-Kazakhstan region for the amount of over 300 billion tenge.

Deputy Minister of National Economy A. Zhumagulov, Minister of Defense and Aerospace Industry B. Atamkulov and other heads of state bodies reported to the Working Group.

“Development of the Comprehensive Development Plan for the North-Kazakhstan region for 2018-2021 is a direct instruction of the Head of State NA Nazarbayev. The implementation of this document will give a serious impetus to the socio-economic development of the region and improve the quality of life of the population of North Kazakhstan region,” – A. Mamin emphasized.

Following the meeting of the Working Group, First Deputy Prime Minister A. Mamin instructed the Ministry of National Economy together with the Akimat of North-Kazakhstan region to finalize the draft of the Comprehensive Plan for 2018-2021 taking into account the suggestions made, and submit it to the Government in due course.

In Petropavlovsk A. Mamin inspected the modernization of the Petropavlovsk international airport, got acquainted with the construction of the Schoolchildren’s Palace and reconstruction of the M-51 motorway “Petropavlovsk - access to Chelyabinsk”.

The First Deputy Prime Minister visited Kaztechmash LLP, which plans to open a plant for assembling agricultural machinery of German CLASS concern.
