The main events of the week from May 18 to May 24, 2020

  • Comprehensive Plan for Restoring Economic Growth by the end of 2020 was considered at a government session on Tuesday. The plan consists of 10 areas and 172 systemic and sectoral measures to stimulate business activity, support employment and increase incomes. The head of government instructed to ensure the high-quality implementation of the plan's activities on time.
  • On Thursday the prime minister chaired a meeting of the State Commission for Monitoring the Construction of the New City Center of Nur-Sultan. The prime minister focused on the need to ensure the planned volumes of construction and commissioning of housing, schools and other social facilities, as well as solving the problems of water supply and urban improvement.
  • Askar Mamin introduced to the staff of the Ministry of Finance the new minister – Yerulan Zhamaubayev. The head of government expressed confidence that the extensive experience of Zhamaubayev in the financial and banking sector will allow the new minister to successfully solve the tasks.
  • On Friday, the prime minister visited the Turkistan region on a working trip, where he checked the progress of restoration work in the Maktaaral district, as well as the construction of the infrastructure of Turkistan.
  • On Saturday, as part of his working trip to the Almaty region, the head of government inspected the development of agriculture and water management, as well as housing and engineering infrastructure of the Almaty region.
