The main events of the week from Aug. 5 to 10, 2019

On Aug. 6, the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received the Prime Minister Askar Mamin. The Head of State was informed about the progress of reconstruction in Arys and the construction of infrastructure in Turkestan.

On Monday, Aug. 5, the Prime Minister Askar Mamin visited Akmola region on a working trip, where he reviewed the preparations for the upcoming XVII Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia in 2020, visited a number of backbone enterprises implemented in the areas of industrialization, housing, and agroindustrial complex.

On Aug. 7, Prime Minister Askar Mamin visited the National Center for Biotechnology in Nur-Sultan, where he familiarized himself with the development of Kazakhstani science, the scientific and technical programs and applied projects. The Head of the Government examined the laboratory block, which presented promising developments of the center in the field of medical, agricultural, environmental biotechnologies, food and processing industries, as well as presented the possibilities for their further implementation in the country's economy.

On Friday, Aug. 9, Prime Minister Askar Mamin attended a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Cholpon-Ata. The participants in the meeting considered 15 issues on the agenda for the further development of integration processes, increasing trade and economic cooperation, and removing barriers in the EAEU domestic market.

On Aug. 10, Askar Mamin visited Almaty for a working trip. In the course of the trip, the prime minister examined the progress of construction of large infrastructure facilities, held meetings on the development of Almaty and the Almaty metropolitan area.
