Askar Mamin visited Tengiz field, several oil and gas projects and held a meeting on development of local content

In the course of his working visit to Atyrau region July 17-18, Prime Minister Askar Mamin visited oil and gas enterprises, familiarized himself with the construction of new industrial facilities and held a meeting on local content development, oil and gas engineering, and compliance with labor legislation of Kazakhstan.

The head of Government visited the third generation plant under construction at the Tengiz field, which is being built as part of the Future Expansion Project implemented by Tengizchevroil LLP.

The general construction is underway at the plant, as well as laying of underground utilities, installation of tanks, 23 prefabricated modular racks are installed. The assembly of two gas turbine generators and a process module haa been successfully completed. 25 contractors and subcontractors work at the construction site of the plant, employing about 3,300 people. The project will be completed in 2022.

The prime minister of Kazakhstan also overflew the Kashagan field and the island "D," where oil is being produced with its primary separation, with further transportation by pipeline to the Bolashak plant.

As part of the trip to the Atyrau region, the head of Government held a meeting on the development of local content, oil and gas engineering, compliance with labor laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Askar Mamin noted that the share of local content in the procurement of operators of large projects shows growth, but at the same time, the products of Kazakhstan machine builders are not fully applied.

“This situation requires taking effective measures, including from the project operators,” the prime minister emphasized.

Askar Mamin noted that the Government has adopted the Road Map for the Development of Machine-Building for 2019-2024, which provides for tax preferences, financial and raw material support for machine-building enterprises, as well as providing them with qualified personnel.

During the meeting, issues of compliance with labor legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan were discussed, namely, the introduction of subsoil users at enterprises of vertical control in relation to contractors and subcontractors to ensure safe working conditions, residence of workers, as well as a fair remuneration system.

Also during his working visit to the region, the prime minister visited the Atyrau Refinery complex for deep oil refining, AtyrauNefteMash, FEZ National Industrial Petrochemical Technopark, Polymer Production, Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries Inc., Karabatan Utility Solutions, Bolashak oil and gas processing plant, an enterprise for the production of optical cables of various brands, etc.
