Number of detected CVI cases in decreased by 16% last week — Ministry of Healthcare

Tuesday, 15 June 2021, 10:55:16

At the government session chaired by Prime Minister Askar Mamin, the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the country was considered. Minister of Healthcare Alexey Tsoy reported on the current situation and the progress of vaccination of the population.

To date, more than 176 million cases of CVI have been registered in the world, more than 290 thousand cases are recorded per day. More than 3.8 million people died, the mortality rate was 2.1%.

As the minister of healthcare noted, over the past week, there has been an increase in the incidence of coronavirus infection in the CIS countries, including in the Russian Federation the number of cases increased by 1.5 times compared to the previous week, additional restrictive measures are again introduced taking into account the increase in incidence in Moscow.

“As of June 15, 402,996 patients with a positive result of COVID-19 and 56 705 cases with CVI were registered in Kazakhstan. 94% of patients recovered. The Republic of Kazakhstan has been in the green zone since June 6. The city of Nur-Sultan remains in the red zone. The rest of the regions are in the yellow and green zones,” Tsoy informed.

The number of detected cases of CVI over the past week has decreased by 16%. The employment of infectious beds in the republic as of June 15 is 23% (6,655 beds), resuscitation beds — 21% (568 beds).

In 7 regions, where there was a high incidence and occupancy of beds in infectious diseases hospitals, visits of the working group of the Ministry were carried out. The health departments were given recommendations taking into account the identified shortcomings in the organization of medical care in the region.

As a result of the work carried out, a positive trend in the employment of infectious and intensive care beds is noted.

In a number of regions, there is also a decrease in the number of beds due to the closure of infectious wards in multidisciplinary hospitals (in Almaty, a decrease in the number of beds by 5.6 times, in Almaty region by 3.6 times as of June 15 compared to April 19 of this year. )

“Over the past month, the number of patients with CVI + and CVI- decreased from 2,505 to 757 cases per day, or 3.3 times, the number of patients in inpatient treatment decreased 2.1 times, and 1.7 times in outpatient treatment. To date, about 4 million doses of the vaccine have been used, of which 2,547,363 people were vaccinated with component 1, which is 25.7% of the subject population. The second component covered 1,435,334 people,” Tsoy said.

Today, vaccination centers have a sufficient number of vaccine doses: about 1.2 million doses of the first component and 914 thousand of the second component.

The lowest percentage of vaccination coverage with component 1 is noted in Mangystau region — 13.2%, Kostanay — 19.5%; the second component in the Mangystau region — 7.3%.

According to the head of the department, today the Ashyq system includes more than 10 thousand objects of all spheres of activity, 2 million 100 thousand users are registered. The vaccination passport is being integrated with the Ashyq application. By the end of June, the Ashyq project is planned to be implemented at airports and railway stations.

At the same time, since the introduction of Ashyq, 4,401 were identified with a positive result of the PCR test and 3,981 contacts.

“Unfortunately, some citizens, knowing their status, continue to disregard the home isolation regime, try to visit crowded facilities, move within the country, thereby posing a threat of infection to others and contributing to the spread of coronavirus. In this regard, the Ministry approved and came into force the rules, according to which violators of the quarantine regime will be brought to administrative responsibility in the form of a fine, the amount of which is more than 87 thousand tenge,” Tsoy said.

In addition to these measures, business entities must ensure safety for the population at their facilities and strictly comply with restrictive measures and requirements for being included in the Ashyq project.

In addition, as the minister stressed, the increase in morbidity in the CIS countries and some countries of the world once again confirms that one should not neglect the current restrictive measures for holding mass events, as well as observe the main preventive measures — wearing masks, keeping a distance.

“One of the key measures to reduce the incidence rate is vaccination, in this regard, the regions need to take measures to increase the rate of vaccination,” Tsoy concluded.
