Main events of the week from Aug. 31 to Sep. 6, 2020
On Sep. 1, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at a joint meeting of the Houses of Parliament published the Address to the people "Kazakhstan in a New Reality: Time for Action”, in which he presented a strategy for the country's further development. The Head of State came up with a number of initiatives aimed at increasing the efficiency of the management system, the economy in new realities, unlocking industrial potential, developing agriculture, transport and logistics complex, small and medium-sized businesses, the financial sector, modernizing the country's territorial development and increasing the social well-being of Kazakhstanis.
On Wednesday, at a regular government session chaired by the prime minister, measures to implement the Address of the President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the people"Kazakhstan in a New Reality: Time for Action" dated Sep. 1, 2020, were considered. The head of government noted that in order to improve the well-being of the people, great tasks have been set for further economic development. Execution of the instructions of the Address will ensure the active development of a competitive real sector and diversification of the export structure. On the implementation of all directions of the Address of the Head of State by Sep. 7, 2020, a National Plan will be prepared and submitted to the President for approval.
On Sep. 2-3, the prime minister on a working trip visited the East Kazakhstan and Almaty regions, where he checked the implementation of large infrastructure projects and state development programs. Mamin instructed to increase the pace of construction work on the roads, stressing the importance of quality assurance and commissioning this year of the created transport infrastructure. The head of government also got acquainted with the work of health care facilities, culture and sports, the construction of engineering and housing infrastructure.
On Saturday, the prime minister visited the defense industry enterprise, Kazakhstan Aselsan Engineering LLP, which in the context of a pandemic organized the production of stationary ventilators. The prime minister got acquainted with the production and instructed to ensure the timely delivery of products to medical institutions of the country.
